Rev. W. Roy Reynolds, pastor

Our beloved pastor of 40 years passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 23, 2018.  His faithful service to the Lord was a blessing and an inspiration to us all.  As preacher, teacher, and school administrator he was loved and respected and will be greatly missed.  We stand strong in our faith and continue to faithfully preach God's Word.  We invite you to join us at our Sunday morning service.

Roy grew up in Andover, Mass., and graduated from Andover High School in 1965. He attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in math education. After graduating he began teaching math at a private academy in West Newbury, Mass.

In the fall in 1971, he became saved and met his future wife. He married Brenda Youney in June of 1972 and moved to Vermont to attend the Bible Institute of New England for one year. He then served at the Lyndon Bible Church in Vermont for 3½ years. Two daughters, Emily and Rachel, were born in Vermont. In January of 1977 the family moved to Massachusetts so that he could attend Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He finished his last year of seminary after accepting a call to pastor the South Berwick Free Baptist Church in South Berwick, Maine. He graduated with a Master of Theological Studies degree in May of 1979. Roy and Brenda’s third child, Seth, was born that July.

While pastoring, Roy also began teaching math again at a Christian school, and he eventually helped in the founding of Seacoast Christian School in South Berwick in the fall of 1984.

Roy has served at this church since he first took the pastorate in 1978.
